Game 29: Laverstock & Ford 1.0 Amesbury Town (Wessex 1) 08.03.14
After a month of wet weather, overseas visitors and a missed train connection it was good to finally get to a game. The sun came out for this local derby and it felt like the first day of Spring. Laverstock hadn’t played a home match since 28 December and Amesbury made most of the chances in the first half. Neither keeper was really tested until the 41st minute when a Laverstock corner wasn’t cleared and the ball was bundled in from close range. Laverstock played better going down the slope in the second half and missed a couple of good chances to extend their lead. Amesbury almost nicked a point at the end but somehow a Laverstock defender managed to block a close range shot and clear it for a corner.
