Game 8: Cadbury Heath 2.3 Ringwood Town (FA Vase) 04.10.14

A thrilling first half saw visitors Ringwood take a three goal lead after twenty minutes. The first goal was a tap in after a cross from the right evaded the keeper. Ringwood then hit the bar with a shot from an acute angle but five minutes later the keeper had no chance to get near a long range shot. The third goal came from a corner, a short range shot was blasted up into the goal away from the covering defender. It was almost four as Ringwood hit the woodwork again, this time from a free kick.

Cadbury Heath pulled a goal back on twenty five minutes, a cross was missed by the defender which allowed the forward a tap in. The comeback seemed on nine minutes later from a freekick when the ball was headed back into the box and a shot flew in to the goal. Just before halftime a Cadbury player managed to take the ball round the keeper but his shot was weak and a covering defender managed to clear the ball for a corner before it crossed the line.

There were no more goals in the second half but Cadbury Heath almost equalised late on, a shot bouncing off the post and rolling along the goal line before being cleared. A great Vase tie.
