Game 13: Salisbury 1.1 Gosport Borough (Friendly) 01.05.15

After a season with no football at the Ray Mac, two friendlies were organised this week to allow the new Salisbury FC to cast their eye over trialists. After a 2.2 draw against AFC Totton on Tuesday, Gosport Borough were the visitors after a Cardiff U21 team withdrew.

The game was a ‘pay what you want’ entry and an attendance of 746 was an encouraging crowd for the club ahead of their visits to the FA league committee. Salisbury took a first half lead through former Salisbury City player Claudio Herbert who converted a penalty after 15 minutes. Gosport equalised on the hour with a fantastic shot from the left side of the box that flew past the keeper and in.
