Game 16: Salisbury 2.0 Team Solent (Wessex Premier)

Game 16: Salisbury 2.0 Team Solent (Wessex Premier) 05.03.16

After setting a personal best of 10 new grounds in a row decided to stay local and pop up to the Ray Mac to catch leaders Salisbury in a Wessex league game and pick up an FA Vase semi final ticket.

Salisbury dominated the first half but their passing lacked quality and moves were breaking down to easily. They hit the bar with a header early on, only to see the ball drop kindly in to the Solent keeper’s hands. A better free kick into the box late in the half was headed in by O’Keefe to give them the lead.

Team Solent had a better second half and created a couple of good chances, shooting just wide with one of them. Their keeper’s distribution was poor which put more pressure on his defence. In the 76th minute Salisbury wrapped up the scoring when a corner somehow missed everyone at the front and middle of the box, allowing a player at the far post to knock the ball in to an unguarded net.
